Frequently Asked Questions

Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure that uses a handheld tool to create realistic-looking eyebrow hair with pigment

Topical anesthetic is applied to the brows prior to the service to numb the skin. Everyone responds differently to topical anesthetics. Should you feel anything the pain level is considered mild to none.

The best candidates for microblading are those with thin, sparse asymmetrical eyebrows. Some people should not get microblading including those with certain health conditions or skin conditions. Here is a list of contraindications:

  • Accutane (must be off for 1 year)
  • Allergy to makeup
  • Allergy to pigment
  • Autoimmune Disease
  • Blood Conditions (Hemophilia, Sickle Cell Anemia, Platelet Disorders, use of Aspirin)
  • Botox (No Botox 30 days prior)
  • Chemotherapy
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Glaucoma
  • Heart Conditions/Pacemaker
  • Keloid Scarring
  • Skin Conditions (Eczema, Psoriasis, Sunburn, Acne in eyebrow area)
  • Steroids (must be off 6 weeks prior)
  • Viral Infections (HIV, Hepatitis)

Microblading takes approximately 10-14 days to heal over. 6 weeks for them to heal completely. Your eyebrows will appear DARKER than desired after the treatment. This is normal. They will fade to your desired shade once they are fully healed. You will experience itchiness, scabbing and flaking of the brows this is part of the healing process. To avoid risk of infection and maintain the integrity of the microblading refrain from touching, picking and scratching the brows this will subside within a few days. Your eyebrows will then fade to a lighter shade of color often referred to as the “ghosting” phase. This is part of the healing process when the eyebrows appear light and opaque due to a milky layer of skin over the pigment. Once fully healed the microblading will be of your desired color.

Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years depending on skin type, age and lifestyle. Those with oily skin types may need touch-ups more often than those who do not have oily skin. Sun exposure and excessive sweating will cause them to fade faster than normal.

A touch-up is recommended once every 12-18 months.
